WTF are Carnivorous Plants?

Carl Linnaeus called them Miracles of Nature.

Charles Darwin called them his favorite plants, and conducted more experiments upon them than almost anyone else even to this day.

And rumor has it, Benjamin Franklin himself even tried his hand at growing them in his garden.
Carnivorous plants have fascinated horticulturalists, scientists, and anyone who ever looked at them for our entire recorded botanical history. They are plants which have evolved unique and effective ways to lure, trap, kill and digest other living creatures.
Found growing in almost all parts of the world, these plants are not only interesting, but beautiful and awe inspiring.
